The book uses the spiral learning approach to teach the four main language skills, that is listening, speaking, reading and writing. Through the chapters of the book, the pupil is continuously engaged in activities and exercises which progressively reinforce each of the four skills. As a requirement for competence-based teaching, the book has plenty of activities which engage the pupil and reinforce knowledge through practice.
